Ύμνος προς τη Σελήνη
(Hymn to Selene)
Draw your chariot a little slower, Selene
Let the night linger a little longer
For tonight, I am dreaming of her
It's been so long and so far she's been
Tell Eos that she needn't waken soon
It's January, and the dawn can wait
In my dreams let my love find its fate
Behind the Acropolis, bathed in Moon
Even Boreas treads softly tonight
Hypnotised by Calliope's lilting lyre
Will you be able to make me her desire
By your magic, Selene, by your moonlight?

, here is my prayer to Selene (the Greek goddess, and often a synonym of Moon). If you have read this far, I would request you to go visit my friend @whiskeyandpens and see what she wrote on this prompt. I am so proud to be called a friend by someone so talented and beautiful. If you like, do go to the link on my bio and show some love. Whisks- you are all nine, rolled into one.
Also, A high five to Reeta @her_dreams_walking for lovely nature poetry on her page.
Eos is Greek goddess of dawn. Boreas is the Greek god of north wind. Calliope is the muse of lyrical poetry. And the Acropolis in Athens looks beautiful in moonlight. .
